Making your Trade show a success!Ever wonder why some companies go big at trade show and are still not successful, whereas other go small but capture more leads? The answer is effective strategic plan and making sure to pay attention to all details. Never say shall do it when time comes. Small pending things might not be achievable later on and can allow loop holes in your Trade show exhibit. If you devise your plan step by step and you play your cards right you can easily get desired results.

Always study your competitors before starting

The secret lies in when you start answering how my neighbor is popular amongst every one and I am not. Never copy but pick up inspirational things from other trade show exhibitors who you envy and look up to and study why they are successful. If they are attracting enormous traffic booth, there must always be a reason behind that. You need to observe and adapt your company accordingly by bringing your own style to it. Be careful never copy rather brings your own touch to others success patterns. Your booth and display should be like a graceful pretty lady who enters a party and people stop, look and vows for a moment and call her “lady in red dress” in their discussions. Your company and exhibit should be that pretty lady to whom everyone wants to stop by and talk to.

Gather your team for trade show.

It is best to make your team exclusively for your exhibition. Always make sure you deliver your goals and mission to your trade show staff so that they also can relate to what services and products you are offering. They should look and behave like as if they own what you are selling. Maintain right attitude and approach once in trade show. Train them to be expressive and persuasive in front of customers. The first rule for capturing your 80% visitors is friendly and warm welcome by simply giving modest smile which shows it is meant only for you and not for everyone. Make sure your staff is well informed of what they are selling and has every answer to your question. Never say let me get back to you with all answers and disappear to ask your manger. Your prospect customer will underestimate your company’s capabilities.

Devise a strategic plan.

Make sure you start with sound marketing plan. Answer all hows, whats, wheres and how much?? It is not necessary to go huge and expensive. You can still work out if you play your cards right . It all depends how many leads you can attract and keeping follow up with them.

Trade show display design

Make sure you have finalized and designed your trade booth equipment beforehand. Design according to the space you have at exhibition. Make it standout either by vibrant graphics or eloquent design. Your logo must be big enough to be seen from distance. Finalize how many banner stands,pull up banners, popup displays, brochure stands, exhibition panels, promotional counters, outdoor banners, crowd control barriers etc to buy and from where to buy. Always arrange a meeting with your trade show consultants and discuss all aspects with them for more professional display. If your prime concern is portability always go for portable graphic display solutions. One thing you must be very careful about is of enough space for booth traffic. Keep the traffic moving. Make sure a lot many people can enter, walk around, talk with your staff and sit cozily in one quiet corner to have discussion and walk out with getting brochures or may be promotional item in their hand. Avoid enclosed spaces as enclosed spaces will allow few clients at a time and is boring. And lastly try to get everything done from one party from buying portable displays to get graphics done

Clarity

Never assume your customers know all about you and your company. Don’t give false impressions by your signage etc. Be specific and clear in what you deal in and how you work. Make sure you leave no room for confusion. Deliver clear messages for your own success.

Give out promotional items

Gifts giveaways are one of the better things to do to capture more audience and retaining them as customers. One might spend two minutes at your booth and go away. Your promotional pen, souvenir or present will remind him of you and your company. It doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive. Just a modest gesture from your company which will stay in your prospect customers’ mind for long. He can then easily distinguish your company from rest of the exhibition booths. This giveaway act might not give you immediate results but once your clients short list companies yours will be there too. As I said “Pay attention to details, small things do wonders where big cannot!”

Recognize potential customers

Scan your leads business cards to have enough databases to keep follow up. You can tell by the attitude of client coming in your booth for if he is a serious buyer or not. The moment you realize he is a serious customer. Pay more attention and exchange information. Give out all necessary details he requires. Make sure you give one promotional gift before he leaves.

Corporate Identity

Have a corporate identity. Work on effective display of logo and portable display bags and carrier. For instance, if you have red or grey in logo then have red carry bags for flyers and promotional items. Anyone carrying your bag will know it’s coming from your booth. Here you play with the psyche. When people will walk around with your conspicuous carry bags, others will also look for a booth giving out rd carry bags. Focus on colors and style and don’t ignore staff. Make them wear highly professional uniform and make sure their hair, uniform and shoes are tidy and sparkling. There is nothing better to talk to someone who fits fully in hygiene and appearance.

Be consistent

Never focus only on the first day. All days must be full of energy and enthusiasm. In order to break monotony you can replace your trade show staff with other members if things get tiring and monotonous. But don’t walk around lethargic.
